What is the Raindrop Technique?
Raindrop Training
In March of 2014, in Zion, Illinois, I was participating in a specialized class, learning the Raindrop Technique alongside my colleagues. We were divided up into teams to practice the Raindrop Technique on each other, taking turns laying on the massage table, we followed the directions of our instructor Dr. David Stewart, PhD, head of the Centre for Aromatherapy Research and Education (CARE).
When it was my turn to be on the table, I felt a tight knot in my stomach as my team applied the oils to my feet. While pondering what I was feeling in my gut, I burst into tears from my eyes and down my cheeks. As fast as it happened, it was over, and I felt much lighter and refreshed. My team gave me a moment to recover from the emotional release as I continued to ponder the root cause of the pent-up emotions.
I realized that what I was releasing during the process was suppressed grief from losing my mother only a month prior. The oils went deep and helped me to physically release emotions that I had not fully processed, leaving me feeling better and more in-tune with myself.
How it Works
The technique works by applying essential oils in a special sequence on the soles of the feet, and then dropping them (like raindrops) six inches above the spine. This method helps the oils to effectively enter the client’s energy field and provide a specific healing energy for that individual.
Humans respond to the energetic frequency of our environment because we ourselves are made up of energy. We respond to living plant products (like essential oils) because they send out positive frequencies that can promote healing and feelings of peace.
I have used essential oils for nine years now, and have fallen in love with their ability to calm and uplift my spirits as well as support my health and vitality. Simply diffusing or applying them to problem areas on my body has been a life-changer for my wellbeing (and my family’s).
Since essential oils change from liquid to gas instantly, they can enter our respiratory system and into our bloodstream, letting them move quickly to the emotional part of our brain called the limbic brain. There, they can help to boost our mood or, in cases like mine, they can release grief or other deep-rooted emotions, promoting feelings of wholeness and peace, restoring equilibrium.
Essential oils are living plant products, so they are naturally equipped to help the body to heal and repair the same way that they would heal and repair their plant form should it get torn or attacked by parasites. Having oils dropped along the spine where there are many lymph glands can similarly help to cleanse the body of viruses and toxins.
